Energy Action has successfully run Fuel Poverty Conferences for a number of years including a European Fuel Poverty Conference in Dublin in 2013. The Energy Action 2017 Conference will feature speakers from Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, and Belgium. This year’s conference theme is: “Fuel Poverty and Climate Action”. Denis Naughten TD, Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment will open the conference.

The day’s programme will also feature a number of interesting workshops including “Smart Meters” and “Behavioural Change”.
The Conference will facilitate dialogue between regulators, policy makers, environmental, energy efficiency and health experts, researchers, private contractors, energy companies and the various agencies supporting vulnerable people. The aim of Energy Action’s annual Fuel Poverty Conference is to provide a forum for those working in the area of fuel poverty, to share key information, experience, and perspectives in order to identify lasting solutions to the issue.
Conference speakers at Energy Action Fuel Poverty and Climate Action 2017 will review current policy and best practice with regard to fuel poverty/energy affordability in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the UK, and provide a stimulating forum for debate and discussion around these key issues as well as the exchange of valuable information.
