Principal Officer in the Department of Rural and Community Development
Finola Moylette is a Principal Officer in the Department of Rural and Community Development. She has responsibility for community policy, including the recently published Sustainable, Inclusive and Empowered Communities: A five year strategy for the Community and Voluntary sector in Ireland 2019-2024; cross-departmental coordination of local development and community development; and developing local governance structures as part of the reform of Local Government, with a particular focus on Local Community Development Committees and Local Economic and Community Plans. At programme level, she also has responsibility for the Community Services Programme, which supports local social enterprise development, and manages the Department’s responsibilities under the EU funded Peace IV programme.
Finola also has policy responsibility for the public library service in Ireland, with a specific focus on the developing strategy and funding frameworks to underpin delivery of library services by local authorities.
