Head of the UR’s Consumer Protection and Environmental
Sarah Brady is an economist who has worked in a variety of senior roles within the Utility Regulator (UR) for 15 years. She is currently head of the UR’s Consumer Protection and Environmental. Within this role she is responsible for the UR’s Consumer Protection Strategy, the UR’s energy efficiency work, and renewable energy support mechanisms such as the Renewables Obligation. As part of her energy efficiency remit Sarah is responsible for the Utility Regulator’s compliance with the Energy Efficiency Directive and for the running of the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP). Sarah currently works as the Utility Regulator’s main contact for stakeholders representing vulnerable customers and has worked on a cross Department basis with DETI and DSD on issues related to vulnerable customers, energy efficiency and renewable energy.
