Senior Executive Engineer, Dublin City Council
Shane joined Dublin City Council in 2014 as a Senior Executive Engineer and has responsibility for three departments; these include the Retrofit Department which has upgraded in excess of 7,000 DCC properties to date under Phase One of the energy efficiency programme in addition to various area based schemes, the Domestic Heating section which has a stock of approximately 24,000 boilers and the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Department which has approximately 40 Commercial Buildings and 100 Communal District Heating sites. After graduating from D.I.T. Bolton Street in 2000 with a Diploma in Engineering and a B.Sc. Hons Engineering Degree from Trinity College Dublin, Shane spent three years working in Australia for ABB and then returned to Ireland to work for Pfizer. He then took over the Ericsson Portfolio for Ireland as Operations Manager for Johnson Controls prior to moving to IBM as an M&E Project Manager. Shane then worked as an M&E consultant for various clients from 2006 overseeing multi million euro projects from inception through to completion prior to joining DCC in 2014.
